In my kindest dreams, I’m walking the beach

The gently drooping sun floods the sky a purple red

Glitter and shine where the ocean and sky meet

Leisurely gulls float on the lazy evening breeze

Trailing behind footprints casually erased by the sea

Memories of the moment kept forever within

My hand in yours, fingers interlaced

My gaze upon yours, eyes interlocked

The rush of emotions drown the crash of the sea

We lean in, lips touch, and magic begins

Cruel reality jolts us apart

We sit up in bed with a sudden start

Trudging on with life’s mundanity

Knowing the moment we close our eyes at night

Life begins as we dream again
