Songs of summer sweep the sandy shore
Sea gulls cry as the ocean winds call
The rush of waves make a distant rumbling
While the day's last rays skim its frothy face
Sitting and watching the games of the gulls
I gently open my sand-filled hands
The breeze swirls away the shimmering dust
As it catches the flames of the retiring dusk
An orange flame bobs on the horizon
Sinking lazily into the deep abyss
Yet faithful is the one who dims the sky
For each morning brings the very same light
An honoured audience of such grandeur
I secretly pine for my sweet beloved
For how could one witness the most glorious sight
And hide it for his own delight?
But faithful is the one who makes the day and night
Tomorrow again the beauty will arrive
