It was that fateful day I carelessly fell
Deep into that abyss so called love,
Or was it just into your warm brown eyes
When you turned your head and our gaze met?
Your face, your eyes, your tender lips
Ceaselessly lingered in my every thought;
Your tussled head of soft brown curls,
Your satin skin that glows with pride,
Your chiseled face that melts many hearts,
Your masculine scent that tingled my spine;
In the day I would pine for you,
In the night I would dream of you.

Till our fingers met some starry night,
Strangers drawn by a formless bait;
Shadows of two amidst the darkness of trees,
In the desolate woods a romance unfolds;
Our hands as eyes we saw in the dark,
Closer together our bodies were drawn,
I felt your face drift upon mine,
In a sweet surender our lips gently locked;
That very moment my heart seemed to stop,
Through my body I felt a jolt,
Above the clouds I was lifted,
The roar of the ocean was in my ears.

As we strolled hand in hand by the glassy lake,
We gave our love, the moon our witness;
The soft night breeze gently rustled the leaves,
My spirit rose along with the wind;
I turned around, my eyes sought yours,
My fingers softly stroked your hair;
The balmy moonbeam fell on your face,
I felt my body quiver and crumble,
A tingling warmth ran down to my toes,
Beneath my chest my stirred heart throbbed;
Earnestly I appealed in a quiet voice,
"Shall I ever see you again?"

The night gradually faded away
Broken by the first ray of dawn
Sugar sweet was my first and last kiss
The throbbing never left my lips
You turned around and walked away
In the distance your figure dissolved
Not a trail you left behind
I could never find you again
Your answer never came in a word
My heart and spirit you left behind shattered
Day by day I pick up the pieces
Waiting to hear your footsteps again..

As he puts his arms around me,
I'm lifted into the air with him.
Spirit, fire and autumn leaves
Swirl about me lifting me higher and higher.

The fires that lick cannot burn me,
The woes that threaten cannot hurt me,
The venom that spits cannot touch me.
I am safe in his warm embrace,
His promise is one that will never fade.

I will run to him, for his words are true,
No lies no deceit, he's my living miracle,
In him lies my endless faith.
Any tortuous race I will run in his name,
In him I will find courage and my way.

When hope is lost and my world starts to tumble,
He'll whisper gently into my ears
"I never left you one moment,
It's okay, I'll catch you as you fall."

His eyes see my every burden and sorrow,
He will watch me fight and grow.
He knows me like no other,
There is none like him, my father.

He's the rising sun, the moon at dusk,
The voice that soothes, the lamps by the path.
He is the very magic that lights up my eyes,
The blood that makes my fragile heart thump.

I see the world through his heavenly eyes,
A garden full of fireflies,
Always bustling with hope and light.
His love is the ocean and the sky,
He's my savior, my strength, my life.

Was it not just yesterday
That I looked to the wall and spurned thy name
Was it not just a moment ago
That I claimed false strength from nothing?

In a barren desert I looked for life
In a vast ocean I searched for land
In a midst of rigid cycles I yearned for excitement
In a state of confusion I burrowed for meaning

Nay, speak not to my heart, voice of Almighty
For pride stands me alone
While I crumble under the weight of troubles
Nay, open my eyes not, hands of Glory
For blinded I face alone
The harsh world of hypocrisy

Such my parched soul whimpered
Disguised by obstinence my parasitic desperation
Onwards, march en route
To Where honey spills and breads in abundance

A trecherous trek over a mountain
Storms and winds, robbers and bears
Upon a gully my weary feet lands
Where a golden stream trickles and the rainbow ends

Into the valley I took my first step
And never again I had to fret
Apples, flowers, peace widespread
The sun ever-shining through rains and tides
