Like a wilting rose my petals fall
The layers gently peeling off
Clutching on to shattered glory
The memories of stardom faded away

Once were the days the craven hid
Behind the crimson luscious face
The fervid charm of a seductress
Luring the lecherous to the prey

Once it stood on a tower of thorns
Beneath a facade that seeks to awe
Throwing out a pompous demeanor
Like a Caesar thriving on power

Upon a bending yellowed stalk
A denuded helpless craven rocks
Its final frolic bears no witness
In a gust of wind it swirls meekly off
