If I could close my eyes and stay in this dream forever, if I could shut the doors to this cruel harsh world, if I could run against the sands of time, back to the heaven I fell from, then perhaps I could feel your fingertips against mine once again, hear your breath against my cheeks, feel your lips graze my lids. Then once again perhaps I shall live, feel the wind lick my hair as I twirl and spin amongst the dancing greens, to end up safe and snug in the comforts of your arms. And as you rock me by the fireplace on a cold winter evening and sing me the sweetest song of love, I'd gaze into your warm brown eyes that twinkle with the flames. I slowly drift away from the only dream that was real. I try to reach out to grasp that moment, but I can only see you float away, with sorrow and pain buried beneath your glassy eyes. And you became my yesterdays, the only days that meant something to me. Now I trudge on in the darkness, with no tomorrows, only solitude on an endless night.
